The 28th sports meet of our school was held on 28th October 2023 at Nethaji Indoor Stadium, Vellore. The Chief Guest of this day was Thiru K.Gowthaman, Additional Superintendent of Police, Vellore District. Sri.M.Vimmalchand Jain, President, Sri Marudhar Kesari Jain Trust presided over the function. Our Trustee Sri.K.Rajesh Kumar Jain, Vice Principals and Physical Education Teacher of Marudhar Kesari Jain College for Women, Vaniyambadi were other prominent dignitaries amongst us to grace our special day.
The day began with the Prayer Song of Navkar Mantra followed by Thamizh Thai Vaazhthu. Our dignitaries stepped forward to hoist the National Flag, School Flag and the Olympic Flag to bring out the spirit of universal brotherhood, nationalism and co-ordination.
The pride of any school, the March Parade was performed by the 4 houses namely Ruby, Sapphire, Emerald and Topaz led by the Head Boy and Head Girl on the beats of our school Marching Band. This year we have introduced the active participation of our Junior Red Cross. The student volunteers of Junior Red Cross (JRC) took their proud position behind the Marching Band as part of our March Past. This was followed by the lighting of the Olympic Torch, the Declaration of the Sports Meet open by the Chief Guest, the Administration of the Oath (by the school Head Boy) and the liberation of Dove.
Our Principal welcomed the gathering. A beautiful welcome dance was performed on the beats of patriotic music was performed by girls of classes VI and VII. This was followed the detailed introduction of the Chief Guest by our Academic Advisor. The Chief Guest Thiru.K.Gowthaman A.S.P, Vellore District, was honoured with shawl, garland and a memento.
The Annual Sports Report was read out by Mr.N.Bhaskar (Physical Education Teacher). The Chief Guest addressed the gathering. Our President Sri.M.Vimmalchand Jain and Trustee Sir also felicitated the gathering.
Like the previous year this year also we had 5 Unique Drills bringing out the excellent synchronization of body movements and properties. Tender buds of kindergarten performed the Pim Pom Drill, the Missile Drill was done by students of classes I to III. Rombo Drill (by IV & V), La Belle Drill (by VI to IX Boys) and Serapes Drill (by VI to IX girls) added sufficient splendor to the Sports Day.
Yoga exercises were done by IV to VII students. Pyramid, Silambam, Archery and Karate were the other sports related activities performed by our students. Parents and Alumni events were also conducted. The Finals of 200mt for class X Girls and Boys were conducted separately. 4 x 100 mt Relay for girls and boys was an exciting experience for all.
Certificates and medals were awarded to all the winners of individual as well as Team Events. The Overall House Shield was bagged by Topaz House. Prizes were also awarded to winners of Teachers events, Non – teaching staff event, Attendars, Helpers and Bus Drivers plus Conductors’ events too.
Vote of Thanks was delivered by our Vice Principal of High school. The Sports Day Meet was declared close. Finally all rose up for the National Anthem before dispersal.
