Krishna Janmashtami is an annual Hindu festival that celebrates the birth of Krishna, the eighth avatar of Vishnu. On 22nd Aug 2019, Sri Krishna Janmashtami was celebrated in our school campus at 10.30 a.m. with Staff and Students. Students from classes KG to III were dressed up colorfully like Krishnan and Radhai to celebrate the day. The celebration started with a prayer song. Lord Krishna was worshipped by performing Pooja and offering Fruits, Sweets and Seedai. Our Principal delivered the welcome address and Krishna Janmashtami wishes to the gathering. The Chief Guest of the day, Shri. Akinchana Krishna Das, M.Com, Manager, ISKCON Vellore, with other Devotees of ISKCON, Vellore was honoured with shawl and mala as a token of gratitude. To get the Lord’s blessings staff and students chanted Sri Krishna Bhajan with the assistance of ISKCON devotees. Our Guest Shri. Akinchana Krishna Das shared few words about Lord Krishna. Students dedicated a song, performed dance and enacted the story of “Krishna and Sudama” that made everyone happy. Our Teachers from KG class performed a puppet show on “Dashavataram”. Our Vice Principal expressed Vote of Thanks and wished a Happy Krishna Janmashtami. Seedai was distributed to all as a part of celebration.
