On 26th January 2020, we celebrated 71st Republic Day in our school premises with Staff and Students. On this special day, Dr. S.Usha L.L.M., Ph.D ., Senior Professor, V.I.T. University, Vellore was the Chief Guest. Our Secretary Sri.C.Lickmichand Jain and Mrs.Susheela Bhai presided over the celebration and honoured our Chief Guest with shawl and memento as a token of Gratitude. The celebration started with a devotional song followed by Tamizh Thai vazhthu. The Chief Guest hoisted our Tri colour National Flag with utmost respect as a tribute to our country. Students saluted the National Flag, sung Flag song and took National Pledge. Our Principal Mrs.N.S.Geetha addressed the gathering and introduced the Chief Guest.
Our Chief Guest briefed about ‘The Constitution of India’- which has 395 Articles, and 1,46,385 words the longest written constitution of any country , also defined ‘What is Republic?’, & ‘Uniform Civil Code’ and motivated students to work towards the achievements of the nation.
High School Vice Principal Mrs.Ponnoli shared about the Lady Commandant and also about Bal Puraskar Award which is conferred to 49 children at Rashtrapati Bhawan under different categories including bravery, social service, sports, art and culture, innovation, scholastic and sports.
Primary Vice Principal Mrs. Aparna Devi shared about the reason for celebrating National festivals in schools, i.e. to bring about the glorious past to the present generation, and to know the history of the nation.
Students gave a Republic speech in all the three languages which highlighted about our sovereign country and the sacrifices of our great leaders from the clutches of British and make our nation a FREE INDIA. Cultural programme dance and song added an additional fragrance which presented the glory of India.
The programme ended with wishes and Vote of thanks by our Vice Principal Mrs.R.Geetha, who imbibed the ‘value of Patriotism’ among students. Groundnut Burfi was distributed to all.
