On Occasion of Pongal, festival of harvest, we celebrated Pongal in our school on 6th January 2020, in a grand manner. The premise was decorated in a traditional manner. The celebration started in a traditional way by cooking pongal in the pot which is made to overflow, that implies a good sign of our lives to be overflowed with strength and happiness. Puja was done to Cow & Calf and they were feeded with pongal and banana. Our Parent Chief Guest of the day Mr. S.Thirumal, BCS, Deputy Manager, Indusind Bank Ltd., Ranipet. Ms.Saraswathi Bhai, w/o Shri.Rugee R.Kanyalal Jain (late), Founder of our School and Trustee Sri.K.Rajesh Kumar Jain, presided over the celebration and made the celebration more energetic. Our Guest was honoured with shawl and mala as a token of gratitude. Our Parent guest delivered an encouraging speech to the children on importance of Agriculture and requested to follow our traditions in future. Our Trustee Sri.K.Rajesh Kumar Jain delivered his hearty Pongal wishes to all. The cultural programme started with a skit and dance depicting the importance of Agriculture. A panel discussion was conducted by students on the topic "Importance of Food and Games during ancient days". Uri Adithal was played by our IX students that was the highlight of our celebration. Finally the programme was successful with vote of thanks by our Vice Principal. Sweet Pongal was made by our staff in school campus and it was distributed to all Students and Staff.
