In an urgent need to fight against Covid – 19, We at BMD Jain School joined hands with Health Department of Vellore Corporation and conducted a free Covid - 19 Vaccination camp.
The camp was flagged off with the honourable presence of the District Collector Mr.A. Shanmuga Sundaram (IAS) alongwith Dr.S Chithrasena M.D., District Welfare Officer. This is the 10th Covid – 19 Vaccination camp that the Trader’s Association of Vellore has directly got involved successfully.
The camp was presided over by our Trustee Sri.K.Rajesh Kumar Jain, Trust Co-ordinator Sir, President of Vellore Trader’s Association Mr.Gnanavel, Secretary of Vellore Jewellery Pawn Broking Association Mr.Ramesh, Sri. R.Chandra Sekar Ayyaa of Udhavum Ullangal, Corporation Commissioner Mr.N. Sankaran, Members of Chamber of Traders, Principal, Vice Principal, Teaching and Non Teaching staff and Parents.
After the Prayer and Tamizh Thai Vazhthu, the Principal gave her Welcome Address which was followed by the District Collector Mr.A. Shanmuga Sundaram’s energetic speech. The Honourable Collector gave a clear picture of the present dangerous scenario and how the Vellore District has been taking various measures to fight against the virus. It is just a two way process that is, Medicine and secondly through Self Prevention. Where Medicine is concerned it is mandatory all above 45 years must take the vaccination and wearing mask, social distancing, washing hands, are the preventive measures.
Our Trustee Sir gave his hearty wishes to all the staff, parents and public people who came for the vaccination. The Corporation Commissioner Mr.Sankaran and Mr.Gnanavel President of Vellore Trader’s Association gave inspiring speeches Sri. R.Chandra Sekar Ayyaa came forward to share his fond memories with the school and inspired all to take the vaccine. Secretary of Jewellery pawn broking Association Mr.Ramesh also gave his views about the awareness. He also gave his tribute through his speech to our founder Sri Kanyalal Jain. Health workers from Govt. Health Centre were attentive and caring with the public and staff who came for the vaccine.
The programme came to a close with the Vote of Thanks by the Vice Principal Mam.
Overall more than 550 people were provided with the vaccination. We extend our heartiest gratitude to the volunteers, staff and parents for their massive support and
co-operation to make this vaccination camp a grand success.
