On 22nd July 2016, Heritage club was inaugurated in our school at 10.00 a.m. with the students of VI STD. Our Chief guests Mr.P.Ravikumar, M.Sc., M.Ed., M.Phil, P.B.Ed DSA., Selection Grade Headmaster Rtd, Sri Venkateshwara H.S.School, Vellore, District President, Vidya Bharathi, Vellore was honoured by our Trust Co-ordinator with shaal, mala and momento. The Inauguration started with prayer and lighting of kuthuvillaku. Our Principal welcome the gathering and addressed the chief guests. The Incharge Teacher presented the Heritage club report of 2015-2016 and announced the club President, Secretary, office bearers and were badged by the Chief Guest followed by the Heritage Pledge by club Secretary.
Our Guest Mr. P. Ravikumar started the session with a Guru Stotram and conducted a seminar on “Heritage of India”. He inculcated the gathering to give respect to the Parent, Teachers and Elders by illustrating a story of Pandarinath, The God of Pandaripuram. He interacted with students by asking some slogans like “Mathrudevo Bhava, Pithrudevo Bhava, Achariyadevo Bhava”,“Suprabhatam (kowsalya Supraja Ramapoorva)” and spoke about meanings of Avataram and our India (bharatam) which means respecting parents and teachers. The speech was inspiring and useful. Finally the programme ended with the vote of thanks by student President of the club.
