INSTRUCTIONS TO PARENTS/STUDENTS

  1. “Educating a child is the responsibility of both the parents and the teachers”. Parents are teachers at home, hence they are asked to co-operate with the school to impart better education to their child. 
  1. It is necessary that the students and parents read the Almanac together and understand the contents fully. Student should carry his/her Almanac to school every day. Refer monthly planner for the Academic year schedule. The working days are numbered from day 1 to day 5, and not as Monday, Tuesday……Friday. Saturdays and Sundays are not included in the cycle. All the 1st, 4th and 5th Saturday’s will be a working day for classes I to VIII. All Saturdays will be a holiday for K.G. 
  1. Personal record of Students’ must have his/her photograph with complete information duly signed by Parents/Guardian. Special notices, circulars, home works, time table and portions for term examinations and unit tests will be sent to the students through the Almanac, which should be read and countersigned regularly and kept carefully for future reference. 
  1. Report on the Student’s performance will be shown to the parent after each term. Parent must check the performance of the student’s and take necessary steps to improve his/her performance. 
  1. During Test/Examination if the government declares holiday, that day’s Test/Examination will be conducted after the last Test/Examination. On any account Re-Test/Examination will not be conducted. 
  1. Parents are requested not to send their child to school during severe illness & communicable diseases. 
  1. Parents are invited to attend the Parent-Teacher’s meeting and other functions arranged by the school, along with their wards. They are expected to co-operate in the working of the school by being regular, punctual and discipline. 
  1. Promotion is decided on the basis of cumulative percentage of the student’s performance in all examinations conducted in the academic year

   (giving due weightage for each examination). The minimum pass percentage is 40%            for all the subjects. 

  1. Parents are not permitted to enter the class rooms, talk with the teachers during school hours, (including lunch time) as it affects the smooth running of the school. 
  1. Intimate any change of residential address and telephone numbers to the school authorities. 
  1. Almanac, Books, Note books, Bags, Water bottle, Pencil box and Snacks box should bear the name and class of the student. 
  1. Students should not leave the school premises in middle of the school hours. Parents are strictly advised not to apply for permission. 
  1. All the students are expected to maintain a high standard of manners and decorum while at school
  • Students are expected to be in the school campus at least 5 minutes before the school timing. Students will be marked absent if they come late.
  • The school gate will be closed for IV to X at 8.30 a.m. and K.G to III at 9.35 a.m. For all the late comers, respective parents will have to submit a written letter to the Principal stating the reason for delay and get due permission to enter the class. Repeated late coming will invoke action from the Principal.
  • Students should keep the school premises and class rooms neat and clean.
  • Students should converse only in English and maintain good discipline.
  • Damaging school property is prohibited. Any damage or loss must be reported to the class teacher immediately. Fine will be collected on identification. Preserve the school properties, conserve water and electricity.
  • Movements from the class room to Assembly or any classes such as OGA, games, library, laboratory etc., and back to the class rooms must be orderly and in a single queue.
  • Students are not allowed to make noise (or) loiter around during the class hours.
  • Attending daily morning assembly and IHA participation is compulsory for all students.
  • Copying or helping others to copy and borrowing materials from others are not encouraged during test and examination.
  • Students are strictly not allowed to wear digital smart watches to school.
  • Students should not bring valuable things or cash to the school. School will not be responsible for any loss or damage.
  • No student shall leave the school premises on their own. School will not ensure safety of the children outside the school campus and will not be responsible for incidents beyond its control.
  • Play-ground rules: No pushing or knocking other students down. ‘Play fighting’, fighting of any kind will not be permitted, no throwing of any objects. (stones, sticks, mulch etc.,)
  • School will not allow students to involve into
    • Mobile chatting with friends
    • Teasing of peer group elders.
    • Usage of two wheelers.
    • Facebook, Twitter, WhatsApp, Instagram, Telegram, Hike account and chatting.
    • Permissiveness in boy-girl relationship.

Any such unhealthy trends will be dealt with very seriously. Pupils against whom there are penalty, complaints or misbehaviour are liable to suspension or expulsion from school. 

  1. Lunch and Snacks

Fruits /Nuts / Homemade snacks can be sent for break time. The menu for lunch can be according to the choice of the parent, but not over-stuffing the lunch box. Non-Vegetarian food including egg is strictly not permitted inside the school campus.

  1. All communications by parent to the class teacher / subject teacher should be written in the Parent-Teacher communication page in Almanac. No telephone conversations are encouraged. Parents must meet the teacher in person if they are called for a discussion/meeting. 
  1. Parent should not come to class to pick or drop their wards. Children should be dropped near the school gate only. 
  1. Parents should not ask for permission in between the school hours. Parents are expected to plan before hand in order to avoid unnecessary permission during school hours. In case of emergency, Parents should compulsorily produce request letter to take their child from school premises. Apart from parents if others wish to take the

child they should bear the authorization letter written & duly signed by the Parents. 

  1. Parent Visiting Hours

Parents can meet the class teacher and subject teacher on 1st and 4th working Saturday between 10.00 a.m. and 12.00 noon to discuss about their ward’s progress. For repeated, unsolved complaints or issues, Parents can register their complaint in the COMPLAINT REGISTER kept in the PRINCIPAL’S OFFICE, not in the Almanac. 

  1. Attendance policy and punctuality
  • Every student must have a minimum of 90% attendance to be promoted to the next class. (Except on medical grounds).
  • Long Leave (more than 3 days) should be priorly informed to the class teacher through leave letter.
  • In case of students who have been sick, medical certificate should be produced while joining and in case of any infections or contagious disease they should produce the fitness certificate.
  • Absence record given in the almanac should be updated by the Parent and submitted to the class teacher.
  • Updated Late record has to be signed by the Parent.
  1. Transport Rules from and to school
  • Parents/Guardians are expected to be present to their respective venue well in advance.
  • The child will be dropped at the venue in the presence of parent / guardian only, if not parent should pick the child from the school for the better safety measures.
  • Students should board or get down the bus / van only when it has fully stopped.
  • Students are to be seated and ensure that noise levels during travel time should be low so as to avoid disturbing the driver.
  • Students must make sure that school bags and other belongings are placed properly.
  • Students should not stretch their hands out for waving.
  • No objects should be thrown inside or outside the bus.
  • The consumption of edibles and beverages is not permitted in the school transport vehicle.
  • Respect to the bus conductor / driver is highly appreciated.
  • No instruction should be given to the driver or conductor by the parent. In case of necessary, communicate through office.
  • Cancellation of the bus facility should be informed to the office in writing before the commencement of the term.
  • Parents should inform to the office well in advance through written letter, for change of their stopping.
  • Avoid disorderly conduct, Use of improper language, Tampering with or defacing the bus, Out of the seat when bus is in motion, Unnecessary noise, Refusal to obey directions, Fighting and Teasing etc., Disciplinary actions will be taken if students indulge in any indiscipline. Students using the school transport must maintain proper discipline or else the transport facility will be withdrawn immediately. 
  1. Dress code or Uniform
  • Students are expected to come in full uniform on all working days, special classes and including Parent-Teacher’s meeting.
  • Students must wear white uniform on every Monday, with white canvas shoe.
  • ID card, belt and shoes are integral part of school uniform.
  • Girls must plait their hair. Fancy accessories are not allowed.
  • Girls of KG to VII must plait their hair with black woollen bands.
  • Girls of class VIII to X shall wear single plait with black woollen bands.
  • All girls must wear bloomers or leggings in Maroon colour upto the knee.
  • During winter, if required students should come in Maroon colour sweater.
  • Boys should have their shirts tucked in and buttoned up.
  • Hair of boys must be combed and neatly trimmed.
  • Uniforms must be regularly washed and pressed every day.
  • Shoes must be polished and socks must be washed every day. It is expected that every student buy three sets of socks.
  • Student should maintain proper personal hygiene and cleanliness by cutting nails at regular intervals. Students should possess a Kerchief to maintain cleanliness. 
  1. House system

The students are grouped into four houses named after the precious stones. The house system aims to:

  • Develop competitive spirit.
  • Develop competitive qualities.
  • Build up the talents.
  • Encourage Co-operation & team work.

  1. Mode of Payment

The school fee must be paid on a Term Basis in the cash office. Van fee should be paid along with the Term fee on term basis. Fee once paid will not be refunded on any account. No reminder will be sent for payment of fee. Additional fee will be collected for any delay in payment of fee, if it is not paid as per the dates mentioned below (5 days grace period).

  1. Transfer Certificate

Parents are asked to apply for T.C. before 25th February, if they intend to transfer their children for the next academic year. If applied after this date, Term fee should be paid. The same rule will be followed for T.C. request in the middle of an academic year.
