On 30.05.2023 Orientation Programme for teachers, we had two Resource Persons, from Karuna International, Chennai, who were honoured as Chief Guests for the day. The session began with the unique Karuna Prayer Song followed by Welcome Address by Principal. Introduction of the Chief Guests Mr.Suresh Kankaria and Mr.Vinod Kumaar.S was given by our Academic Advisor.
Mr.Suresh Kankaria is the Vice President of Karuna International, Chennai and has conducted various workshops on Karuna based values. He started his speech by giving a detailed meaning of the Karuna based values. He then went on to explain why various animals in Nature like ants, snakes, goats, cows etc., should be protected and rescued when in danger. Many animals help in their own way in protecting the Eco system.
The second Resource Person was Mr.Vinod Kumaar.S who is the General Manager of Blue Cross of India. Mr.Vinod showed a PPT Presentation about Blue Cross of India, its establishment (in 1959) and details of animal slaughter. He explained how chickens and other slaughter animals are tortured why animals should not be killed in the name of sacrifice and why pet animals can also be taken from the street animals. Overall it was an eye-opener for all those present in the session.
Mr.Vinod Kumaar.S encouraged all to be kind and compassionate to all animals in general as they also feel pain and sorrow like human beings.
